The following tips will lead us to slow down, enjoy the moment and find out why the journey is the reward.

  • Set aside handheld devices to make “raw” contact with yourself and others.
  • Focus on what you love.
  • Visualize an awe-inspiring moment and immerse yourself in it.
  • Take time to be open to wonder and surprise.
  • Appreciate life and the fuller ranges of your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.
  • Let go of what is beyond your capabilities and rest in the vast unknown.
  • View pain as a sometime teacher and an impetus to a fuller, richer life.
  • Take time to contemplate nature.
  • Engage in rich conversations about big questions, such as life, death and love.
  • Be present with life’s rocky moments, realizing that these too shall pass, change and sometimes open to deeper awareness.
