Cavansite is rare, highly sought after and gorgeous, as it forms in prismatic or tabular crystals as rosettes or fans. It has an exceptionally delicate structure with a hardness of three to four on the Mohs scale, and its color ranges from aqua blue to a deep ultramarine blue. This crystal has been found in the United States, Brazil and New Zealand; the very finest specimens with the deepest hues, however, are located in Poona, India.
