How fortunate we are to live on this planet and in this universe of unlimited possibilities, places and events to experience the journeys of our lives. In this diversity, we are offered many paths, not only to discover ourselves as sentient beings, but also to participate in and experience the variety of relationships we call families, friends, frenemies and groups. Many times we do not appreciate how amazing it is to have these experiences with each other.

A question many of us may ask ourselves is: What is my purpose? Yet, how can we have only one purpose? It is impossible. It is also impossible to fall off our paths. As we traverse our journeys throughout the decades of our lives, growing individually and together, our purposes change.

Here is a simple example: As a parent, child, sibling or friend, our roles change when we interact with each other personally and professionally. We are all in a constant flux, flowing or restricted, depending upon how clear and conscious or unconscious we are in these moments.

As you change the focus from the “we” to the “you” along your path/journey, you may think you have strayed from it or are on the wrong one during different times in your life. This is not possible. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing and however you are being, you are on your path. You may think you are going backwards, upside down or walking a narrow, limited path, but nevertheless you are on your path.

If you find yourself wondering about such things, this is the ideal moment to ask yourself: What am I doing? Why am I creating these things in my life — do I have to? If not, this can become the perfect time and opportunity to make a deliberate change on your path.

Given all the various ways to experience your life journey, here are some questions you have probably asked yourself: What am I supposed to learn? Why do I have to learn it this way?

Maybe it is not supposed to be that you have to learn something or that you have to do something in a specific way. Why do you have to challenge yourself with a lesson in the first place? Can you not do it or do it in a different way? Perhaps the purpose of life is to simply experience its diversity in all the ways it has to offer you and learn from those.

Stop limiting yourself. As an individual who chooses to embrace the variety of offerings this planet has, you may influence others to see their own lives differently. We are all connected as individuals to the “we” of the human species. We affect each other and, often, each others’ journeys.

So stop asking self-limiting questions. Start to see the unlimited potential that surrounds you each and every day. Make these opportunities real and take advantage of them. Implement your unique talents and embrace all of your experiences. Live in the moment. Express your sense of humor. Share yourself with others, and make a difference in your own life and in the lives of others. You deserve a wondrous path — no matter how much you question it or how it may meander.
