Feng shui, Love and Relationships

If you are longing for more romance, it is helpful to visualize yourself in an intimate, loving situation with the person you love.

Romance is about feeling close to someone, and it occurs when two people merge their chi energies in a harmonious way. The process is facilitated through mutual empathy and understanding, as well as feelings of excitement for one another.

If you are longing for more romance, it is helpful to visualize yourself in an intimate, loving situation with the person you love. When you are together, your deeper feelings for each other will generate a powerful charge of energy.

Another component of romance involves setting a sensual environment. According to the principles of feng shui, the colors pink and red, for example, are deeply associated with romance, pleasure and a sense of playfulness.

You can make a sensual background for romance by employing the following:

  • Add touches of red or pink in napkins, candles, flowers and other decorative details. Choose red or pink roses, as they create the best chi energy, especially if you are having a romantic meal. A slender vase with long-stemmed red roses embodies the mood.
  • Use silks and brocades to provide the best chi energy, as soft fabrics promote kindness and understanding.
  • Use soft lighting in your space. Avoid direct lighting or glaring bulbs. Try using up-lights, which can be reflected off a wall or ceiling. Use candles for a more intimate atmosphere.
  • Decorate your space with pairs of things, such as candles or ornaments. Even matching up two plants or finding a special sculpture that represents two people can be helpful in evoking a romantic backdrop that helps stimulate loving energy.
  • In determining your seating plan, choose the way you face based on the chi energy that you hope to invoke. For example, west is the direction of the setting sun. If you tend to be serious, you can promote playfulness by facing west, which exposes you to chi energy associated with the sunset and the pleasures of life.

Face north to align yourself with the chi energy of the night. North is an ideal direction to face if you tend to be overpowering.

If you have difficulty with self-expression, facing south is the ideal direction since its energy is associated with passion and deep feelings.

Finally, do not expect instant results. Remember that feng shui is a journey. It will show you how to open the pathways of positive energy in your life and gradually introduce changes that will bring harmony. Give yourself and your significant other the time and energy to find your own level of romance, and let the magic begin.
