Ah, your heart’s voice. As Rumi describes it, “The One who is knocking from the inside.” You likely recognize it and know when your heart is talking to you.
Yet, it is common for people to ignore the voice of their heart. You may be one of those people. Instead, you may be listening to the one running around in the attic like a small rodent — the voice in your head.
Why is it so hard to follow that voice which is so intimately linked with the essence of your very being? For many people, the difficulty with listening is rooted in fear — the fear of actually listening and acting upon something that may lead into the unknown. And the voice in your head will do its best to try and convince you to keep your life at the status quo. Yet it is often because of your heart’s longing to lead you into unexplored territory that the magic and mystery of your life can open before you.
Exploring the unknown requires courage. Ironically, this courage comes from the same place you may have tried to ignore — your heart. When you cross the threshold of courage you begin to elevate your life and do things you never dreamed or ever thought possible. You begin to hear and know your voice of power.
The Upanishads, scriptures of ancient India, speak of the Atman as the individuation of the One Spirit living in the heart of every human being. The Buddhist writings say that the Buddha nature is found in the heart of every human.
The voice and breath of your own heart is directly linked to and is a part of the One Spirit. The universal life force that created the universe is found within your own heart — wow!
This is your voice of power waiting patiently for you, and all you have to do is listen.
