When choosing the best foods loaded with probiotics, it is important to pick high-quality organic ingredients. You can cut costs by buying in-store organic brands. Below are three quick breakfast recipes with a healthy dosage of probiotics.
Yogurt Parfaits
Ingredients:
- 1 cup low-sugar granola or cereal
- 1 cup organic yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh fruit
- 1 tablespoon honey
Preparation:
Sprinkle your favorite granola or cereal and fresh fruit between layers of yogurt. Drizzle honey over the top. Serves 1.
Probiotic Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup organic yogurt
- 1 cup organic vanilla soy or rice milk
- Ice
Preparation:
Blend blueberries, banana, yogurt and soy or rice milk. Once the mixture reaches a smooth consistency, add ice to desired consistency. Serves 2.
Tropical Salad
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 mango
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
- 1 cup organic yogurt
Preparation:
Slice banana and mango. Cover fruit with lemon juice. Mix fruit with yogurt and sprinkle coconut over the top. Serves 3.
