There has never been a statement that rings truer than “Life is never what you think it is.” Yet, thinking offers such a limited view of life. As a child, you are taught to think. As an adult, you are told to think more, still. Is it a wonder so many people have headaches? Excessive thinking can be too much for the brain.
Your brain is a computer, a wonderful computer, but nonetheless, just a computer. From a scientific point of view, your brain has been upgraded to use 10 percent of its capacity. Twenty-five years ago, it was estimated that humans used only 5 percent of their brains. So what does using more of your brain mean when it comes to thinking?
Perhaps, if we really are using only 10 percent of our brains, the question we should ask is this: Is there another way to “think outside the brain?” Believe it or not … there is another way. It is called cellular memory.
Your body is full of information. You have your past, present and future stored in your cells. Once you learn to access this information, you may be pleasantly surprised at how effectively you can heal your emotional issues, without over-thinking them. By tapping the information in your cellular memory, you can begin to see the “whys” behind your non-productive behaviors without thinking yourself to death. This will allow you to find new, productive ways to change, without depending solely on thinking.
The cells in your body do not have to labor at thinking like your brain does. These cells store all your experiences, all your emotional issues, plus all your dreams and aspirations. Your body is a walking, talking history of all you have accomplished, whether you view your life as an accomplishment or not. Your body doesn’t judge you. Your body simply records all your experiences.
Your brain, on the other hand, judges you by replaying old tapes and fears that act as a trigger to activate past emotional issues. How does your brain do this? By thinking. You start thinking and your brain starts running the same old messages through its computer. When the messages are neither positive nor productive, the body’s physical and emotional well-being are affected. What you think is what you get. Negative thinking produces negative affects in your life.
What is the result of thinking too much? Over-thinking and over-analyzing contribute to doing nothing, which creates a catch-22 for you. Over-thinking can cause paralysis. Your creativity gets blocked. There is no flow from the Universe when you stay too much in your head. It is difficult to be inspired when your head is full of non-productive thoughts.
Too much “stinking thinking” blocks your best asset, your intuition. Your intuition is your practical gut feeling. It is your best guide. It is the best talent your body possesses. Too much head stuff will get in your way of doing new things in life, daring to be bold or seeing beyond this limited view of life.
When you get out of your head, your life process becomes more creative. When you stop thinking so much, life becomes much easier. You become less emotional and less stressed. You take more control of your life.
Give it a try. When a negative thought comes into your head, shut down the computer and open your heart to your intuition instead. You might just like the changes you begin to manifest.
