Mothers and moms?

A mother is a caring, sharing person, doing without many things to see that her young are provided for.

by Mary Sanders —

In the dictionary, the word mother is defined as the female parent or the origin or source. There are almost as many nicknames for mother as there are mothers. Mom comes in all shapes and sizes; she can be young or older, or perhaps she has gone on to heaven. Regardless of where your mom is, she is an angel, with many things to accomplish.

It has been observed that a mom is a key component to holding the family and future generations together. Quite often, once the figurehead is deceased, the immediate family unit branches off to form their own “Mom Tree.” Thus, the cycle continues over and over again.

Think back to when you were young and lived at home. Maybe you brought your friends home and, in time, your mom became their “mom” too.

A mother is a caring, sharing person, doing without many things to see that her young are provided for.

There comes a time, however, when her young should help her. Mother’s Day is a great time to think about how you are going to honor your mom on her special day. Visit with her, send her a special card or flowers, call her or honor her memory in some way. Show you care. Also, visit your local nursing home. Many forgotten moms reside there. My family plans to adopt a mom from our local assisted living home. Would you be willing to do the same?

Do not worry, dads, your day is coming soon.
