Frequency Specific Microcurrent — a new treatment for macular degeneration

by Dr. Edward C. Kondrot —

A new technique called Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) has produced a dramatic improvement in macular degeneration treatment outcomes. Rather than using generic frequencies with low-level effect on the diseased eye tissue, we now can use frequencies specific to the retinal tissue and the pathology. Thus, the energy is driven into the specific area where tissue repair is needed.

Microcurrent has been used for the past eight years to help improve the vision of people suffering from macular degeneration. The benefit is threefold, in that it increases circulation to the eye, stimulates the retinal cell function and, possibly, regenerates cells. The effects of using 10 to 500 microamps on the cellular level to increase ATP production by 500 percent, increase protein synthesis by 70 percent and increase cell transport by 40 percent have been documented by Ngok Cheng, M.D. (“Effects of Electric Current on ATP Generation, Protein Synthesis and Membrane Transport in Rat Skin,” Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research. No 171:264-272, 1982.)

The roots of FSM date back to the early 1900s with Dr. Albert Abrams, who was the first physician to use calibrated instruments capable of detecting the radiations of living tissue. Dr. Abrams concluded that all matter radiates electromagnetic energy and the characteristics of the radiation depend upon the unique molecular structure of the entity.

Modern FSM utilizes hundreds of frequencies within the range of .01 to 999 Hz with varying intensities of 20 to 600 micro amps. Each tissue in the body has an individualized frequency. For example, the retina has a frequency of 95 Hz and the macula 137 Hz. Each type of pathology also has a frequency; for instance, hemorrhage has a frequency of 18 Hz, while edema is 14 Hz.

FSM is frequency-specific because the frequency of both the tissue and that of the pathology are matched with two supporting frequencies. For example, for macular hemorrhage, the FSM treatment would use 18 Hz and 137 Hz. These coupled frequencies thus match the exact abnormalities present in the damaged tissue. The desired effect is to neutralize those disharmonious frequencies.
