What you eat affects your teeth
by Dr. Nicholas Meyer —
How does what you eat affect your dental health and overall health? This topic is a book in and of itself, but this short article reflects my approach.
Consider that the tooth is the hardest structure within the human body, and once gone, it cannot be repaired or replaced. The side effects of a bad diet can cause damage to the teeth, such as cavities and gum disease. These symptoms can reveal a rotting, significant final breakdown of the body’s systems.
We must ingest a diversity of foods that grow both above and beneath the soil. These foods contain the nourishment, special signals and influences that are necessary for the proper functioning of our cells.
When the consumption of healthier foods outweighs the consumption of the processed foods that we might ingest, we ensure the proper functioning of the body. This allows the body to have optimal raw materials at all times to continue to repair itself as it ages. These are needed to counteract the wear and tear on our cells and our teeth that occur in the normal course of living.
