Healing, Natural therapies

When the bones of the skull are released, so are all the tissues and structures associated with the cranium.

Cranial Release Technique® (CRT) is a unique, natural, hands-on approach to release your body’s innate capacity to heal itself. Although it only takes a few minutes to do, its effects are profound on your overall health and well-being. Why? Because CRT works on the nervous system to restore proper function and balance to your body’s structure.

Approximately 100 years ago, Dr. William G. Sutherland discovered that the 22 bones of the head move in a rhythmic pattern throughout life. Since the movement of these bones is responsible for the proper functioning of the nervous system, it is imperative that this movement be restored if it is disturbed. The CRT method does just that as it releases the entire cranium in a simple, noninvasive technique.

When the bones of the skull are released, so are all the tissues and structures associated with the cranium. These include the spine and pelvis; the shoulders, hips and knees; the dura mater (protective covering over the brain and spinal cord); the fascia (connective tissue throughout the body); and the cerebrospinal fluid flow, which is vital to the health of the nervous system.

CRT is a global release for the body, and it happens quickly throughout the entire structure because it specifically targets the tissues originating in the cranium. These tissue changes can be felt throughout the entire structure because of our body’s amazing fascial network. Chronic stress causes a multitude of challenges to the normal functions of the body. The nervous system goes into hyperdrive, and our bodies respond by producing chemicals. This state of stress can be very damaging to physical and mental health.

CRT has a positive effect on heart-rate variability, and people report feeling more relaxed and at ease following a session. They retain this sense of balance and peace throughout the day.

CRT helps the body return to a place of healing, repair and regeneration, and it can be used on a regular basis to maintain overall health. Include it in your wellness program.
