Are you stuck in wait mode?

There is no reasonable reason not to be actively involved every minute of your day and participating in your life.

by Sherry Anshara —

Ever notice how people are always waiting for something to happen? Waiting to be happy; waiting to lose weight; waiting for the perfect time; waiting for their ship to come in; waiting for the ax to fall; or waiting to win the lottery. Some are even waiting for the world to end. So what is with all this waiting around?

CNN recently announced that the world would not end. It turns out there was a mistake in the Mayan Calendar. Really? Wait a minute! The world was going to end at the turn of the century from the 1800s to the 1900s. Next, the world was going to end with the Hale-Bopp comet and then last decade’s Y2K scare. Hmmm … how many generations have waited for the world to end?

So many scenarios abound that involve waiting. It is amazing how anything gets accomplished with all this waiting around or waiting for something to happen.

So what does happen when you spend your whole life waiting? Have you ever wondered that if you spent your valuable time waiting around and missed the happening, was it because the happening happened while you were waiting around for the happening to happen?

Sure sounds like double talk. Yet, let us examine that never-ending cycle of the wait. What is really going on when you are in the “wait” mode? Well, life is going on, for starters. Have you ever considered what you might have missed while your focus was on the wait?

Have you said that you are going to buy new clothes when you lose or gain the weight that you have been waiting to lose or gain? Did you gain or lose weight while you were waiting? This waiting is exhausting. But the funny thing is, not only did you likely not lose or gain the weight, but you also lost myriad opportunities by focusing on the weight of the wait.

Are you getting the picture? The density or heaviness that your body has to endure while you are in the wait mode weighs heavily on your abilities to fully participate in your life. Is it worth your value and amazing creative talents to imprison yourself in the wait mode?

Maybe the best world to end is the cycle of the “waiting world,” where boredom and nonproductivity reign while you are stuck in waiting mode. Stop waiting for something to happen in your life. Make life happen for you. There is no reasonable reason not to be actively involved every minute of your day and participating in your life.

Even when you are chilling out, hanging out, meditating or just enjoying being alive, you do not have to wait. Stop missing out on life. The wait is over. Life is creatively full and ready for you to notice.
