- Grate a cucumber, squeeze out the juice into a small jar and refrigerate over night. Add fresh lemon juice and apply under eyes (be careful not to get lemon juice in eyes) for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and apply a light moisturizer.
- Make a paste from turmeric powder and pineapple juice. Apply to under-eye area for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Purchase fresh mint from the market. Pulverize it in a food processor. Refrigerate overnight and apply around the eyes for a cooling eye masque.
- Almond is an excellent skin food. Add some almond oil to the above ideas to help feed the delicate tissue under your eyes. Use almond oil instead of a commercial eye cream or lotion.
- Vitamin E is also oil an excellent way to relieve dark circles, wrinkles and puffiness around the eyes. Purchase it in liquid form, or break open a liquid capsule and add to your almond oil and the recipes above.
- Place a handful of chamomile in a pot and boil it in natural spring water to make a tea. Strain the water; let it cool. Dip small washcloths into the water and squeeze out the excess. Place on your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. You can also use chamomile tea bags; just make sure they don’t add any artificial ingredients such as preservatives that could irritate the eye tissues.
- Want to help fade those dark skin spots or freckles on your face and body? Make a paste of whole wheat flour and apple cider vinegar; apply to area with spots. Leave on until dry. Rinse with warm water and apply almond and vitamin E oil.
