The music on this CD offers an intimate, coffeehouse-style set from an award-winning, classically trained composer-pianist.
Kennedy’s strong piano melodies dominate this album and fall smack-dab in the heart of New Age music, but on the other half-dozen pieces that are more wide-ranging, he shares the spotlight with others on sax, wood flute and bass in a variety of styles.
On some of the tunes, Kennedy plays the piano very delicately, but then turns around on the next piece and strides along forcefully.
Sometimes he plays slowly; other moments are uptempo.
