Dissolving your own cataracts

Besides help for cataracts, unpublished research shows the NAC drops can also benefit open-angle primary glaucoma when used with beta-blockers.

by Julia Busch —

Can cataract-laden lenses be cleared without surgery? They can, according to Russian research where eye drops containing the amino acid n-alpha-acetyl-carnosine (NAC) causes cataracts to “melt” like snow. Reversal starts from the edges to gradually make the lens more transparent. Measurable results can occur in as little as one month. However, three to 12 months of treatment is more likely necessary, and possibly as long as 24 months.

Patients in Russian clinical trials placed two drops into each eye three or four times daily for six months. Results showed a pronounced effect on cataracts. The effective rate was 100 percent. Even cataracts of 21 years showed improvement. Understandably, this set an unprecedented benchmark for the treatment and reversal of cataracts and other eye disorders.

Besides help for cataracts, unpublished research shows the NAC drops can also benefit open-angle primary glaucoma when used with beta-blockers.

Additionally, according to Mark Babizhayev, one of the principal Russian researchers behind the development and use of the amino acid formula, NAC drops may help, as well as prevent, presbyopia (old age vision), corneal disorders and retinal diseases, computer vision syndrome, eye strain, ocular inflammation, blurred vision, dry-eye syndrome, vitreous opacities and lesions, along with complications from diabetes mellitus and other systemic diseases. Drops are also thought to reduce lactic acid buildup, allowing contact lenses to be safely worn for longer periods of time.

Important note: Take care not to confuse n-alpha-acetyl-carnosine with the amino acid n-acetyl-carnotine — both share the same initials. Oral intake of the supplement will not produce the same results.
