Earth: Planet of illusions

We chose to come to this particular planet because Earth offers a tremendous opportunity to discover what this love is all about. In other words, to discover who we are.

When you find your life filled with what seems like constant struggle, fear and doubt, it could be helpful to remember that the only real thing in the universe is love. At the core of our being, that is all we are. We chose to come to this particular planet because Earth offers a tremendous opportunity to discover what this love is all about. In other words, to discover who we are.

Earth is the planet of illusions. We chose Earth because we decided we wanted to play a game in which we would have the opportunity to face all kinds of illusions, just to see if we were capable of being who were are (being love) even as these illusions try to convince us otherwise. Why? Because we all, to one degree or another, love to play games. We especially love a game that challenges us to pierce illusion and perceive the truth that we are love, without compromising our integrity.

Integrity means to be true to oneself, true to the lover that we are. In other words, each of us is asking ourselves, based on the particular illusions we have placed in our path, to somehow see the divine love in it all — even the difficult, surprising or confusing aspects. Earth is the perfect neutral playing field for this game.

When an illusion that looks insurmountable appears at your door, take a few moments to remind yourself that you personally placed it there so you could stretch your heart. Of course, this is not easy — and it is only a small derailment when you do fall out of integrity by succumbing to your fears and doubts. However, when we can learn to be who we are, no matter what, that’s when the illusions no longer have power over us.

When an illusion feels like an incredibly heavy weight, we can easily feel all alone. That’s because Spirit is simply honoring our desire to face the illusion alone so that we can remain in love without outside help. Once we have achieved this, we will feel an incredible freedom within; that is when we feel Spirit all around us, applauding us. Why? Because we did it by ourself, without anyone else interfering. Each time we maintain the integrity of who we are (love), we grow deeper and deeper in love. That is what planet Earth is all about.
