Pavane
by Paul Higgs —
The pavane form of music originated in the 16th century for a slow, dignified and sedate dance.
This album features original compositions performed on trumpet and piano that incorporate the smooth sounds of gentle jazz, the depth and melodic richness of neo-classical, the grandeur of a film score and the mellow, soothing ambience of New Age music.
The music reflects pure trumpet tones, a fluid style and emotionalism inherent in every note that slowly unfolds to reveal exquisite melodies, challenging arrangements and strong instrumental interplay between musicians playing cello, violin, classical guitar, acoustic bass, drums and percussion.
