We all know the saying: If we fail to plan, we are planning to fail.

We all know the saying: If we fail to plan, we are planning to fail. Following are five quick tips to help dieters accomplish their goals.

1. Plan your fat-loss success. We plan the time we get up, what we are going to wear, the appointments we need to make and even our vacations; so take the time to create a fat-loss plan.

2. Plan your meals two to four days out. Sit down and actually plan your meals so that when it is time to eat, the food you need is either already prepared or almost ready to go.

3. Always have your grocery list with you. Stick to the items on your list, checking them off as you put them in your cart. Completing a checklist feels great.

4. Keep to the perimeter of the store where most of the fresh foods are found. The foods you want in your cart are those created by nature — vegetables, fruit, eggs and protein.

5. Shop, chop, cook and store. Make it a family affair when you get home from the store. Prepare ahead, so you have meals and snacks ready to go.
