Rejuvenate your life

Chinese Medicine teaches us to use t’ai chi, chi gong and visualization to replenish ourselves at the cellular level.

by Victoria Mogilner —

How many times have you awakened depressed, with low energy and the feeling that everything is moving too fast? Right now everything is speeding up, and unless you take time for yourself, you will burn out, become depressed and feel out of sorts.

Chinese medicine is a practical tool to help you to slow down and think about yourself and your needs. As you take time for yourself, your body will receive an internal tune-up and give you time to relax and recharge.

As you learn to listen to the seasons and take that five-minute break, you will gain control of your life. Autumn is the season to begin going within to recharge and relax. It is the season for the lungs and the colon meridians.

The lungs are associated with creating new ideas in your life and beginning to live your dreams. The lungs govern your breathing and your skin, and as you breathe in thoughts of joy and connect with your internal source, you will begin to feel younger and more fulfilled.

The large intestine or colon pathway has to do with releasing the past and the old ways of thinking that are holding you back. These two meridians are paired, and if you hold back feelings, you will not be able to create and move forward in your life.

Rejuvenation is an internal process, and is about connecting to Source, living your life with joy and following your heart. Every time you say, “I am too old,” you age mentally, physically and spiritually.

The meridians can become blocked by negative thinking and living a life filled with doubt and fear. You invite disease by creating stress and not taking time for yourself. As you rush around, you are pushing, pushing, pushing, rather than allowing your body time to relax and be nurtured.

Chinese Medicine teaches us to use t’ai chi, chi gong and visualization to replenish ourselves at the cellular level. Everything you think will go directly to your brain, and you can re-pattern your brain by your thoughts. T’ai chi and chi gong are exercises related to breathing and opening your energy field to help regenerate at your core. They open the meridians and help to clear old blockages. T’ai chi and chi gong replenish the pathways and open the gates of consciousness to a positive lifestyle that will help you gain direction and a sense of purpose.

As you work with visualization, you use your mind to open the pathways and replenish your body. You become what you think. You can start to touch the points on these pathways to help stimulate your thinking and replenish your immune system. Remember, you are in charge of your life.

You can start your day by connecting to your higher power. The point at the top of the head is called the Point of a Thousand Petaled Lotus and is the crown chakra or energy center that connects you with your heavenly source. As you bring in this divine love, you replenish and become the observer of your life rather than getting caught up in life’s problems.

With t’ai chi and acupressure, you will acquire the tools to stay healthy, young and vital.
