Shaman stones are sandstone concretions with a chemical composite of quartz and hematite.

Shaman stones are sandstone concretions with a chemical composite of quartz and hematite. They are naturally spherical, with a smooth but lumpy surface and are brown in color. Shaman stones are also known as “Moqui marbles” by the Moqui Indian children, who play games with them in much the same way other children around the world play with marbles.

Shaman stones have appeared throughout the centuries on five continents. Interestingly, they have been found in pairs at every archeological site where they were discovered. This corresponds with the belief that these stones are used to bring the yin and yang energies into balance, individually as well as globally.

Ancient shamans revered the stones, considering them to be holy and using them as talismans in shamanic ceremonies. They make excellent tools for any intense form of transformational inner work, as their energy affords easier access to the subconscious for shamanic journeying, rebirthing or breath work. The stone emits a powerful energy that stimulates and strengthens the aspect of the higher self (intuitive, psychic). It guides one to specific inner experiences that are most essential for healing the soul and moving forward on the path of spiritual growth.

When choosing a pair of shaman stones, hold them between the palms of your hands, and as you rub them together, listen for a clean clicking sound. In this way, you will find a matching pair.

They are great to meditate with, holding one in each hand or placing one on the third-eye. You can also place a shaman stone at your crown chakra and the other at your feet, which is excellent for personal purification.

The attributes of the stones are many. They provide psychic protection for inner journeyers; absorb negativity energy and transform it to light; ground and balance yin and yang energies; activate conversational communication with angels and guides; and liberate one to pursue a spiritual path without restraint.

Use the stones to journey within to find your true spirit, and expand that spirit into the limitless mystery of all that you are. Find your way to the deepest place in your soul and access that which you require to release, transmute and explore.

The stones will help you reach upward and outward to awaken the dreamer, attaining more insight and awareness than you dared dream possible. The time is now to unleash the great spirit within, realizing and discovering beyond your wildest dreams all the love, joy, peace and abundance you deserve and desire.
