Are you sure you have to go down with that abusive relationship, substance abuse or suffering? Does it feel as if there is no way out from the negative thoughts and feelings surrounding you? Are you resigned to the fate of your circumstances because it’s all you know?
You do not have to go there! Instead of giving up, it is time to wake up. You can resign to fate only by staying spiritually asleep — even when it is a painfully obvious dead-end. By awakening from the nightmare of suffering, you can reclaim your true freedom and potential.
The desire for freedom belongs to the special part of you that remembers you are here on Earth to grow beyond the limitations of your unawakened lower nature. At a deep level, you know you were not created to suffer at the mercy of what author Eckhart Tolle calls the pain body. You are destined for more.
Our task as humans is to awaken to higher awareness within us. That higher power already exists, and we simply need to awaken and respond to it. How is this done?
Nobody in their right mind would think they came into this life consciously deciding, “What I want to do with my life is to find holes and jump into them!” That sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?
Yet every time we turn negative, hate something, become resentful, feel defeated or believe that a power outside ourselves holds us captive, we have jumped into a hole. And then we usually blame our condition on the hole we have jumped into.
The first step of awakening is to remember that there is a higher awareness beckoning — even when it seems as if so much has been taken away from you. Never let the outer circumstances of your life make you doubt the reality of your higher nature. The truth is that your higher nature wants you to succeed in ways far beyond your present ability to see. The magnificence of your true potential is simply obscured by the lower nature that has you stumbling around in the dark.
The more awake you become, the less you entertain negative patterns of limitation or fear, and the less you hurt. You gradually align with the higher power within you to let go and to heal. Even when old beliefs still hold on for a while — feeling like a loser or a victim — the truth within will remind you of who you really are. When you start living from your higher nature, freedom follows.
You are neither the weakness you feel, nor the one judging you for it. You have just been asleep to your higher nature for a while, that’s all. And now it is time to wake up.
