Chakras, Cranial release, Trauma

By allowing emotions to heal, you will find balance, health and happiness — and perhaps even a flatter belly.

Having trouble losing the belly fat, no matter how hard you try? You have been to the gym, you’ve done countless crunches and still no luck. The underlying cause might not be physical, but emotional. As women, we often hold back our emotions — not always saying what needs to be said. And when we do speak, we may feel that we are not being heard. Emotions rise to the surface, only to be acknowledged and then swallowed back down. How many times have you experienced this?

The belly area covers all the female organs, a place of power and control. When we feel out of control, or our spouses have made us angry, what is one of the first things we do? Some of us may withhold intercourse. This is our power. What happens to our body is our choice.

This is also the region of the first and second chakras. The first chakra is called the root chakra, which relates to the earth, survival, grounding and stillness. The second chakra, which is called the spleen chakra, relates to sexual and reproductive capacity.

When the body goes through an emotional event, trauma is often held within the body. This can manifest in the form of physical pain, but the underlying emotional pain is the concern. For instance, as a pot on the stove begins to boil, the water circles around and around. This is what emotions do within the body. And as they begin to boil, they begin to get stirred up; then they go into a holding pattern and can’t find their way out of the body. One way to assist in their release is through cranialSacral unwinding.

In short, cranialSacral unwinding is a hands-on, drug-free therapy that restores the body’s natural balance, helping you attain optimal physical and emotional health. CranialSacral unwinding allows the body to naturally unwind itself; the therapist helps the client move their body by following this movement. At this time, the mind replays thought processes that happened at the time of trauma. The client then has a chance to rethink and put into perspective thoughts that are of current value for the here and now.

As the body unwinds itself, it loosens the tissues and opens channels that allow the flow of fluid into areas that had been too tight to benefit from the nourishment it offers. The fluid then has a chance to move through the body’s tissues, spine and the cranium in a balanced way. We store our memories, thoughts, difficult times and happy moments, not just in the brain, but also in the entire body at the cellular level. In addition, loosening the tissues helps free nerve endings, thus relieving the cause of physical pain.

When you choose to care for yourself, you find your strength again. Moving through emotional holding patterns and finding peace from past emotional trauma is an important way to discover who you are: a powerful woman. By allowing emotions to heal, you will find balance, health and happiness — and perhaps even a flatter belly.
