Pomegranate seeds may be hard to crack, but they are loaded with beneficial anti-aging compounds, including antioxidants and vitamin C. Honey is a natural antiseptic moisturizer and, when sugar is added to the mix, it makes a good body scrub. The following scrub recipe helps remove dead skin cells for smooth, soft skin.

Berries are also loaded with vitamin C, which is a natural anti-aging compound. Eating them alone helps your skin, but a strawberry mask will help fight free radicals, which can damage skin cells and break down collagen.

Try the following treatments to help give your skin some much-needed nourishment.

Pomegranate Exfoliating Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup turbinado sugar, optional

Preparation:

In a food processor, combine pomegranate seeds and uncooked oatmeal. Transfer to bowl; stir in honey and buttermilk. Apply to face for a few minutes, then rinse. For rough patches (like elbows), add 3/4 cup turbinado sugar.

Berry Facial Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen or fresh strawberries, or add raspberries and blueberries
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons honey

Preparation:

In a food processor, combine berries. Then mix yogurt, honey and berries and pour into an 8-ounce glass. Enjoy drinking the smoothie, but be sure to set aside just enough to coat your face. Apply once or twice a week.
