Microcurrent therapy is a painless form of energy therapy, based on the principles of acupuncture. This therapy has been used by medical doctors, acupuncturists, chiropractors and others to help rid their patients of pain and discomfort, and to improve the functioning of their tissues and organs.

If you experience chronic pain or discomfort, part of what you are experiencing is probably a blockage of electrical flow in your body. This is often due to muscle or organ overuse, trauma, toxic overload, poor posture, bad breathing habits or poor circulation.

The end result is excessive inflammation. In many cases, microcurrent therapy can help you shift from inflammation and pain (the first stage of healing) to tissue regeneration (the second part of healing), in a relatively short period of time.

The signs of blockage that you may be experiencing often manifest as pain, swelling, tension, indigestion, exhaustion, recurring colds, sleep disturbances and so on. Your body is electrical — a network of positive and negative energy flows, which are crucial to proper tissue and organ function. When the flow of blood, nerve impulses and electrical microcurrents flow freely and are uninterrupted, you perceive a sense of well-being.

Practitioners of acupuncture — one of the world’s most successful healing modalities for some 5,000 years — discovered that tissues and organs communicate with each other through specific pathways called meridians. Through observation and hands-on tests,  acupuncturists have discovered that they can manipulate the flow of electricity in the meridians with small, thin needles.

With microcurrent therapy, the same principles of healing are utilized, but instead of applying needles, the therapist introduces a small amount of electricity into the blocked area. The course of treatment is very gentle, and the patient can barely detect the electricity being applied.

The results of this gentle electrical stimulation at specific acupuncture points on the body are often remarkable. Patients have been able to get rid of pains and ailments they have suffered from for years.

Acupuncturists trained in the use of the Acutron Mentor, a safe, sophisticated, and powerful microcurrent unit, should be able to offer excellent therapeutic results.
