Summer love

Every day, as you go about your routine, keep a little of your focus on your heart center and its infinite well.

by John English —

Do you know the magnitude to which you are capable of loving? Have you ever stopped to consider what a difference your ability to experience love makes in this world? To experience the energy of love physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually is one of the most precious aspects of human life and our greatest gift to this planet.

Summer is the time of year when everything is in full growth, preparing for the harvest. It is a yang time, a time of action. What better season could there be to practice the art of love? Real love is unconditional and without attachment of any sort. The Christians call it “agape” love. It is the underlying force of all success, and each one of us has an unlimited capacity to express it. Our ability to give and receive love is innate; it is a quality we all have and our decisions to express it change the whole world because we are all connected.

One of the reasons love is such a special energy is that it is both yin and yang, the perfect combination of the female and the male, and the key to experiencing aspects of life we all desire and value. One of the common misconceptions we make is that we need someone or something to love, whereas love exists of its own accord within each of us. It resides in our heart center, located at the sternum.

Our heart center is an infinite well of unconditional love, directly connected to the well that gave birth to the spirit of God. Our beloved, a pet, a flower or a walk in nature are all outer manifestations of this love and enable us to tap into the well within each of us.

The more we focus on our heart centers, the easier it gets to stay in this place of beauty. Try it, the next time you feel the energy of love. Focus within, on the area of your heart center, and you will realize that what you are feeling is actually coming from you. At that moment, you will become conscious of the fact you are a channel of love energy.

This energy extends into the great web of life that connects us all, and as a result, someone you do not even know will be reminded of the well within them and begin to repeat the same process. When you decide to become a conduit for love in this world, you are taking action, sacred action. Please do not underestimate the impact and value of this energy in today’s world. Summer, being a yang time, is a great time to begin this practice.

Use the people, places and cherished things in your life to lead yourself into the power of your heart space. Contrary to what the world would have you believe, this is the safest and most powerful place from which to operate. Perhaps your reminder to love is another person, perhaps not. Whatever or whoever it is, use it to catapult yourself into activating the energy of unconditional love. You will then attract more of this vibration into your own life.

Every day, as you go about your routine, keep a little of your focus on your heart center and its infinite well. Doing this will envelope you in its power and safety, unconsciously giving others permission to do so as well.

I dedicate this article to my wife, Laurie, my high school sweetheart, whom I married at the beginning of summer 25 years ago. She is the person who reminded me of this process in this lifetime. May you find your reminder, and become the gift to this world that you truly are.
