by Linda Williams —
As you speed along in your day-to-day life, are you usually running down to the wire for whatever commitment you are trying to meet? If you hit construction traffic, roadblocks or detours, do you feel your stress level rising? You may think, “If only I had left earlier.”
Perhaps you make excuses, such as, “I leave at the same time every day,” or “It always takes 30 minutes to get there.” Are these the same reactions, attitudes and beliefs you apply when you run into blocks, detours and reversals along your spiritual path?
Blocks, detours and reversals can be beneficial because they are part of the learning process. Reflecting over your past, these so-called negatives may have given you the opportunity to maneuver through obstacles, even if they were of your own making. We are here to learn lessons, which often are uncomfortable because they force change.
So the next time you find yourself running into a roadblock or being detoured to a different route, breathe and know that change is on the way!
