The IM=X Pilates program blends the best of Pilates with strength training and cardiovascular conditioning — a combination that provides faster results. Sessions combine resistance training, stretching, aerobic activity and muscle strengthening to achieve fast, consistent results.
IM=X, which stands for Integrated Movement Xercize, incorporates principles of Pilates along with more athletically oriented concepts of strength and flexibility training. The programs are elite fitness formulas that marry the muscle toning and lengthening benefits of Pilates with the best elements of strength and cardio training.
The sequences are designed to emphasize muscle endurance, fat burning and some signature Pilates moves. Forced exhalation breath also is incorporated to increase the core strengthening benefits of exercise. It is a cross-conditioning system that includes resistance training, stretching and plyometric jumps for a more athletically oriented workout.
The system improves posture, strengthens, lengthens and adds flexibility to the spine, and tones the whole body. It attacks excess bulk in the hips and thighs and tightens the body’s core muscles for rock-hard abs. And, since it targets the pelvic floor, it also enhances the sexual experience.
The program reflects the newest scientific data and latest research to meet the diverse needs of today’s fitness and rehabilitation markets. For this reason, it has been described as the “next evolution of Pilates.”
IM=X Pilates studios offer a unique private or semi-private training experience for those seeking the benefits of Pilates personal training — without the premium price tag. The variety of classes — stretch, interval training, upper body, lower body, cardio, abs, golf/tennis — keeps all fitness levels motivated and challenged.
Everyone — from fitness newbies to hard-core gym enthusiasts — can benefit, as the program has proven effective for all body types and fitness levels, regardless of age, weight or ability. Specialized formats have been tailored for professional athletes, pregnant women, golfers, seniors, weight loss and to address back pain. As participants progress through the program, the sequences and combination of moves become increasingly challenging, so it is never boring and always focused.
