Amazing magnesium combats physical, mental and emotional overload while working to reverse aging. Seventy-six percent of our body’s enzymes and at least 300 major biochemical reactions rely on this vital mineral — from heartbeat to digestion, protein synthesis, bone formation, kidney, adrenal, nervous system and brain function, cellular energy production, activation of B vitamins and glucose metabolism. Yet most individuals are unknowingly magnesium deficient.
A small magnesium deficiency may trigger slight depression, feelings of weakness or “not quite wellness.” A larger deficiency can cause headaches, tremors, low back pain and stiff, tight muscles. Research shows that high-dose oral supplementation appears to be effective in migraine prophylaxis, and the addition of magnesium to conventional therapy helps improve clinical signs and symptoms of asthma. Magnesium may be helpful in treating osteoporosis, PMS, menopause, early contractions during pregnancy, over-acidity, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, blood sugar, balance, diabetes and a list far too long to enumerate here.
Are you considering supplementation, but concerned about taking too much? Like vitamin C, overdose will result in diarrhea. If this occurs, simply reduce your dosage.
